Africa is Europe’s neighbour and it is high time that we in Europe engage more deeply with this continent! Elephants and beetles, lions and zebras, acacias and blades of grass, scorching sandy landscapes and wetlands, uninhabited plains and cities of millions, human history and stories of people, great powers and smallholder farmers, forgotten successes and widely known tragedies. Africa is so much more than safari animals, hardship and conflict. Much of that can be found in this book.
